Introduction: INTO THE PANDEMIC VACUUM 
Over the past two years, citizens around the planet have been thrust into a veritable dystopian dark world that rivals any best-selling suspense novel or block-buster movie. Panic, fear, and hysteria have swept every nation on Earth as the media seers incessantly project a looming threat of disease, death, and prolonged isolation. They have transmitted their fear porn on every news report, propaganda special, and social media alert. The real peril of universal lockdowns, shutdowns, and tyrannical mandates has squashed personal autonomy and individual freedoms for earthlings of every walk of life worldwide. Perhaps most frightening of all, is the ubiquitous information censorship for those who question the mainline narratives, and legitimately fear the massive overreach of Big Tech, Big Government, and Big Business, who demonize, cancel or muzzle dissenters.

The culture had shifted, sometimes forcibly, and Christians have been feeling the brunt of it. These ominous trends create a burgeoning pursuit for truth, direction, freedom and hope—which is ultimately only found in the Lord Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, these crushing developments also give rise to false prophet$ and prophete$$e$, con$piracy theorist$, and prophecy mongerer$. Christian believers are being deceived, manipulated, and exploited. Simultaneously many believers are also being persecuted—the assaults are coming from all sides. It is a time that calls for believers to pray for discernment and wisdom, and to stand fast on God's Word. 
 
The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR, about which we have written extensively since 2005) has been reinventing itself to ca$h in on cri$e$, and exploit volatile civic voting and freedom issues. Employing the spiritual-sounding marketing narratives of revival, or return, or awakening, the NAR movement has strategically capitalized on each ensuing national crisis to expand its outreach. Many religious and political leaders have been swept into the muddy currents of this false gospel stream. Those who should have known better have seemed eager to team up with the NAR's self-anointed, self-appointed “apostles” and “prophets” for political gain and/or spiritual power. It fits the unsavory old idiom “politics makes strange bedfellows.”

Clay Clark is the host of the ThriveTime podcast and the organizer and emcee of the popular and ongoing ReAwaken America Tour (RAT), which has featured dozens of notable conservative doctors, politicians, musicians, media personalities, pastors, and patriots on its various platforms across the nation.[4] Clark is a successful businessman, speaker, author, and winner of multiple business awards. He is also a professing Christian. His Amazon.com biography describes him as the “Jim Carey of entrepreneurs. His energy is infectious, his smile all goofball and his honesty is disarming.” His trademark is his high-pitched, long-winded cry introducing speakers on the platform, energizing the crowds. Because of his business track record, Clark has been a consultant to a smorgasbord of companies around the country. They include:

ENTER —> THE NAR AND WORD OF FAITH (WOF)
The backstory to Clark’s ReAwaken America Tour (RAT) is revealed in a docuseries sponsored by Charisma Media (CM),[7] one of the most prolific and unscrupulous purveyors the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR), Kingdom Now, Dominionism,[8] and the Word of Faith WOF) movements and their doctrinal errors. 
 
Charisma Media is not alone in spreading these doctrinal errors. A hefty segment of evangelical media over the past four decades, including television and publishing, and more recently Internet and social media, has expanded the outreach of the NAR and WOF movements. This has been done not only overtly, by publicizing and glamorizing them, but also by their silence and complicity. The evangelical communications industry has profited greatly by trafficking in fake meat, fake gospels, fake christs, and fake prophets. Evangelical media has failed to factually address the controversial issues that we and others have raised. And now the NAR has greatly expanded its outreach and influence onto new political platforms that appear to be either woefully naive or complicit concerning their strategic goals.

  • Also known as Dominionism, Third Wave, Latter Rain, Kingdom Now, Joel’s Army, Manifest Sons of God, Charismatic Renewal, Charismania. 
  • Its founder was C. Peter Wagner who claims that the Church of the 21st Century will be ruled by Apostles and Prophets. Wagner has anointed himself NAR’s “Presiding Apostle.” 
  • Linked with the Kansas City Prophets “who brought grandiose claims that a ‘new breed’ of super prophets were beginning to arrive on planet earth who would change the world forever”; likewise Word Faith and Pentecostal movements. 
  • Not governed by an official denomination, it is led by alleged apostles and prophets. 
  • Teaches that the new apostles and prophets are to be the government for the emerging “New Order” church. 
  • Claims there will be a reformation greater in scale than the Protestant Reformation. 
  • Claim direct revelation from God and many allege that Jesus and angels visit them in person. Some of them declare that they have visited heaven many times and had conversations with Jesus as well as the Prophets and Apostles. 
  • NAR’s extensive mission outreach throughout the globe has caused the astonishing church growth that’s happening in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. 
  • Denigration of the Bible and Sola Scriptura. 
  • Experience oriented theology and based in emotionalism. 
  • Steeped in mysticism.[9]
 
This list of NAR leaders, teachers, and prophets includes such notables as Stephen Strang (Charisma), Bill Johnson (Bethel Church), Lance Wallnau, Phil Pringle, Steve Schultz (Elijah List), Mike Bickle (IHOP), Brian Houston (Hillsong), Che Ahn, Lou Engle, Rod Parsley, Paula White, Cindy Jacobs and Beni Johnson. This group is united with many other Dominionist entities and people.
 
In utterly simplistic eschatological terms, the NAR/Dominion/Kingdom Now/Word Faith coalition is actively planning to bring the kingdom of God to earth and rule over it—without the King—the Lord Jesus Christ. This brings a sobering layer of truth to a “reawaken” movement run by NAR/WOF self-professing apostles, prophets, and teachers. These leaders have a plan, and it has nothing to do with the American form of representative government. Rather they have a plan for Dominionism. They intend for the Church to take over seven spheres/mountains of society, based on a misappropriation of Old Testament Scripture mixed with a hefty degree of mysticism. Those who hook up with the NAR may not realize the extent to which this group plans to quite literally take Dominion — do they really share the same political goals?

NAR organ Charisma Media also sponsors Clark’s Reawaken America Tour (RAT) events. There is a fee of $17.76 to view each episode of Charisma Media’s RAT docuseries, but a teaser of the production was given in an article written in December by NAR devotee Stephen Strang, founder and CEO of Charisma Media. In it, Clark reveals that he asked God how “to stop the quarantines, the curfews, the mandates, the lockdowns…” He said that he knew with “exactly, 100% of God-ordained clarity, what I was supposed to do. And what I was supposed to do was to begin reawakening America.... I started doing the ReAwaken America events that at the time were called town halls.”[10] 
 
The concocting of an awakening, or a new Great Awakening, has been at the top of the NAR platform for well over a decade. But their kingdom-building agenda has nothing to do with biblical revival, which is calling people to repentance of sins by preaching the Gospel of Salvation in Jesus Christ (Luke 24:47; Eph. 1:13).

TWO DEAD “PROPHETS” INSPIRE REAWAKEN
Supposed confirmation of Clark’s “100% of God-ordained clarity” came from two obscure “prophecies”, one by the late false teacher/prophet Kenneth Hagin,[12] known as the father of the Word of Faith Movement (WOF) and the other by the now deceased New Apostolic Reformation's “singing prophet” Kim Clement.[13] This appears to be a strategic maneuver to validate his credentials. It is commonplace for key “apostles” and “prophets” of the WOF and NAR to dig up and apply to themselves obscure old prophecies, or claim dead men's “anointings” or “mantles”, in order establish that they possess supernatural authority and superior powers.

The Christian Research Network gives a summary of the Word Of Faith movement:

  • Known as Positive Confession, Name-it-and-claim-it, Word of Faith or Word-Faith. Fastest-growing segment of Christianity 
  • Sometimes (but not always) linked with the New Age and with New Apostolic Reformation (NAR). 
  • The WOF movement grew out of the Pentecostal movement in the late 20th century. 
  • Its founder was E. W. Kenyon, who studied the metaphysical New Thought teachings of Phineas Quimby. 
  • Mind science (where “name it and claim it” originated) was combined with Pentecostalism, resulting in a peculiar mix of orthodox Christianity and mysticism. 
  • Kenneth Hagin, in turn, studied under E. W. Kenyon and made the Word of Faith movement what it is today.[15]
 
Among the most popular WOF/Prosperity teachers (some deceased) include: Kenneth Copeland, Morris Cerullo, Kim Clement, Kenneth Hagin, Benny Hinn, Rodney Howard-Browne, T.D. Jakes, Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen, Rod Parsley, Joseph Prince, Oral Roberts, Paula White, Jerry Saville, Beth Moore, and Brian Houston.[16] Many of the pastors now associated with Clark’s ReAwaken America Tour adhere to the beliefs described above. 
 
The fact that Clay Clark would claim a prophecy given by the father of the WOF movement is problematic to Christians holding to sound doctrine. This 1963 Hagin “prophecy”[17] predicting that “the spark of a revival would start from Tulsa, Oklahoma” is recounted in Strang’s article: 
 
The ReAwakening docuseries details at least two prophecies connected to Clark's current work. "It turned out—you can find it on YouTube—in 1963, Kenneth Hagin said there would be an atheistic, communist, Marxist and racially divisive spirit that would descend upon America—sound familiar?—and that the spark of the revival would start from Tulsa, Oklahoma," Clark explains. This August, when he held his first "Health and Freedom" event, later renamed the ReAwaken America Tour, his team called civic centers and event centers, but the only facility willing to host the tour was Rhema Bible College, led by Hagin's son, Kenneth W. Hagin.[18]
 
The old prophecy was said to be fulfilled when Hagin Jr.’s WOF church hosted Clark’s RAT event in 2021.

Of the purported 2013 Clement “prophecy” foretelling that a “man by the name of Mr. Clark” would influence the nation through his prayers, Strang continues: 
 
As the popularity of the tour grew and the demand for Clark to appear on various media outlets rose, someone sent him the Kim Clement prophecy from April 20, 2013, that seems to have a clear connection to his calling to reawaken America. It mentions a "man by the name of Mr. Clark," and says in part, "You have been determined through your prayers to influence this nation. You're watching me; you're an influential person. The Spirit of God says, 'Hear the word of the prophet to you as a king, I will open that door that you prayed about.'"[20]
 
But should the prophetic utterances of the late Kim Clement be heeded by Clark or anyone else? The NAR notoriously never questions its prophets or tests their prophecies, nor does it ever seem to hold them accountable. Thus Clark has easily been established as a second heir apparent to Clement's eerie Trump “prophecy” that ran rampant on social media before and after the last election.
 
We wrote about the late NAR “prophet” Kim Clement in our 2015 article, “The Merging of Muddy Rivers - Singing Prophet Kim Clement Washes in Chuck Missler’s Stream.” In this excerpt, note Clement’s deep connections to the NAR as well as another prominent personality now appearing in the RAT speaking circuit, Lance Wallnau: 
 
Clement is affiliated with the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) and is heavily promoted on the NAR website, The ElijahList. His “Prophetic Words” are published there, along with those of other NAR notables: Chuck Pierce, Dutch Sheets, Rick Joyner, Bill Johnson, Francis Frangipane, Patricia King, Cindy Jacobs, Paul Keith Davis, Lance Wallnau, David Herzog, Johnny Enlow, James Goll, Bobby Conner, and many, many more.
 
The notorious 7-Mountain Mandate leader Lance Wallnau, who spoke alongside Clement at the 2008 Prophetic Blast conference in Chicago, explains Clement’s mystical, prophetic abilities: 
 
I once asked a proven prophetic voice, a friend named Kim Clement, “how do you hear God when on the platform?” It was really quite amazing to watch. 
 
He said he listened till he separated the voice of the person’s own spirit-man, which could be pulling on him in a certain direction. Then he separated the devil’s voice trying to intimidate him. Then he separated his own voice and the way it was handling the pressure of the audience upon him. Whatever remained, was God.
 
Tragically for Clement and his followers, he has just described an exercise in occult mysticism, not sound biblical practice. But this is Clement’s distinctive, mystical-music method of prophecy.[21]
 
Sadly, neither Strang nor Clark said that they tested the spirits: “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world”  (1 John 4:1). Clark's “confirmation” for the veracity of both the Hagin and Clement prophecies became clear to him when “all of a sudden” there were “opening doors,” thus appearing to fulfill what Clement had said. Clark's barometer was based on tangible events not Scripture. But experiential synchronicity does not substitute for God's guidance, particularly when it is not based on sound doctrine. Christians are called to “walk by faith and not sight” (2 Cor. 5:7), especially in these perilous times when it is so difficult to distinguish truth from error.

ENTER THE 7 MOUNTAIN LEADER —> LANCE WALLNAU
According to his website, NAR leader Lance Wallnau claims that he “is the innovator who introduced the “Seven Mountains of Culture” as a fresh template to explain how the church must engage culture at the turn of the century.”[23] Whether or not this a true statement is a matter we have written about previously. What exactly is this teaching and why is it unbiblical? 
 
Essentially, the “Seven Mountains” (7-M) adherents believe that Christians must claim authority over the so-called seven spheres of global influence for the Church to usher in the kingdom of God—without King Jesus. In other words, take dominion. These spheres, or mountains, include religion, family, education, media, arts & entertainment, government, and business, which are then governed by self-appointed “apostles”and “prophets,”[24] and/or “kings” and “priests”. In this imposter kingdom, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is minimized and so is sound biblical eschatology. Those who claim to be its apostles and prophets do not believe they are bound to a closed canon of Scripture when they deliver their “words from God.”

This 7-M doctrine forms the backbone of the NAR (“Kingdom Now”) movement. It serves as the engine that drives those who attempt to implement it by temporal means. But where did the 7-M teaching originate? In Wallnau's new version of the narrative we are told it was transmitted through arcane vision. 
 
Wallnau reveals a bizarre story about the genesis of the 7-M doctrine in a podcast he posted to his website on February 4th titled “A New Level of Authority.” Below is the printed broadcast description: 
Have you ever heard the story of where the seven mountains came from? It's a funny story that involves a prophecy, a Senator, the Senator's wife commanding him back into his body when he died, and a mysterious phone call. 
 
All it will take within each of the seven mountains is a small gathering of people exerting their spiritual authority to shift that entire sphere of influence.[25]

His story isn’t “funny.” It is deeply disturbing. At approximately the 11:26 minute mark, Wallnau says, it was “either an angel or total deception.” It appears from this statement that even he wasn’t sure of the spectral encounter.

Wallnau does not give a date for these extra-biblical revelations. The chronology of his storytelling is difficult to follow at times, but the main takeaways involve a Kim Clement “prophecy”, an out-of-body experience to heaven, a mystical vision, and a mysterious “angel” posing as Clement’s assistant.
 
Wallnau shares that he and Clement often traveled as a team; Wallnau taught and Clement prophesied. He said that he was often called on to translate Clement’s unclear prophetic words. At some point in this spooky story, when Clement was ill, Wallnau was called to “pull on his [Clement’s] prophetic anointing.” He likened this ability to Benny Hinn receiving “the anointing” from the deceased WOF healer Katherine Kuhlman. This is occult mysticism masquerading as sound Christianity! Here is an account Benny Hinn's mystical experiences with dead prophetesses:

Fake Authority
Wallnau's new narrative seems designed to restore his street cred in the hyper-mystical NAR. He explains that he had “walked into the vision” as “Debbie” (the angel in disguise) described what they saw: it resembled “a lake” resembling “a 3-D plasma television) which suddenly became “an ocean.” Then there was a “great shaking” of the world and the ocean began birthing “seven islands which became mountains.” He said that God told them that “the seven mountains are seven world kingdoms” with one great mountain rising above them all which belongs to God. There is no note of caution here, no wariness. Yet Scripture warns us that Satan can transform himself into an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14).
 
Are we supposed to believe that the finer details of the 7-M teaching were divined along the way by other “prophets” or by other methods? Wallnau doesn’t say how it all finally came together. But obfuscating about Dominionism is nothing new. Read the sentence at the end of his broadcast description again, the one following his “funny story” comment: “All it will take within each of the seven mountains is a small gathering of people exerting their spiritual authority to shift that entire sphere of influence.” [emphasis added] 
 
Here is how Lance Wallnau's associate, Os Hillman, recounted the 7 mountain origination story on his original website circa 2008:

We expressed our own suspicions about this Bright/Cunningham story in a Herescope post on June 25, 2007, "Seven Apostolic Spheres," in which we noticed:

Remarkably, even though Wagner was a mission leader who hobnobbed in the same circles as Cunningham and Bright, he states that he didn’t know about the experiences of these two men until Lance Wallnau... brought it to his attention. Wagner writes: “He [Wallnau] calls them the seven mountains. The warfare strategy is that ‘if the world is to be won, these are the mountains that mold the culture and the minds of men. Whoever controls these mountains controls the direction of the world and the harvest therein.’” (p. 114) [The Church in the Workplace (Regal, 2006), ed.]

The amazing quote within the quote above is attributed by Wagner to a “privately circulated paper" of Lance Wallnau’s entitles “A Prophetic, Biblical, and Personal Call to the Marketplace.” Apparently in this paper Wallnau spiritualizes the “high places” of these 7 spheres or mountains which supposedly have “principalities and powers that control” them.

We also asked in a post several days later, titled "Neo-Kuyperian Spheres," 

Did Loren Cunningham and Bill Bright just happen to have corresponding spiritual experiences where God told them a new way to make disciples of all nations, as described in the previous post? Did God really give them a vision of "categories of society" that were to be the church's "seven spheres of influence"? Or, perhaps, were they exposed to the teachings of Abraham Kuyper? The latter is a more likely scenario since Kuyper is behind the modern concept of "spheres." Bright may have been exposed to Kuyper's teachings while a student at Princeton Theological Seminary, which now houses the Abraham Kuyper Center for Public Theology. 
 
Harlot Babylon from the Book of Revelation came to mind when listening to Wallnau’s exotic revision of how the 7-M doctrines were born, “Here is the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains upon which the woman sits…” (Rev. 17:9). The Bible tells us that in the end-times a false Bride is going to sit upon 7 kingdoms (mountains). All those involved with this unfaithful Woman are doomed by the Lord’s accounting (Rev. 17 & 18). But the Lord is coming for His faithful Bride and will be with Her forever (Rev. 19:9; Rev. 21).

and that ye receive not of her plagues.
For her sins have reached unto heave,
and God hath remembered her iniquities.’”
(Revelation 18:4-5)
 
 
The Truth:
The Bible protects us from endtime deceivers and their deceptions. Pastor Larry DeBruyn was deeply concerned about the rise of occult spirituality in the evangelical church world. He wrote many articles teaching believers how to distinguish the occult aspects of deceptions and false prophecy. Concerning any form of contact with deceased people, he warned:

7. “Clairaudience”—Voices 
As clairvoyance involves seeing abnormal sights, clairaudience involves hearing inaudible voices. Guiley offers the following definition: 
 
“Clairaudience is a phenomenon of mystical and trance experiences. Oracles, shamans, priests, prophets, mystics, adepts, saints, and other holy persons throughout history have been guided by clairaudient voices. The voices have been perceived as those of angels, God, spirits of the dead, spirit guides, and the formless Divine Force, the All That Is, sometimes called ‘The Voice of the Eternal Silence’.”

False prophets claimed to experience visions (i.e., “I had a dream, I had a dream!”—Jeremiah 23:25) in which they received a counterfeit word (i.e., “The Lord declares; Peace. Peace; You will have peace; Calamity will not come upon you.”—Jeremiah 23:31; 8:11; 23:17). Claiming that they heard a word from the Lord, these false prophets authorized their message by prefacing it with the mantra, “The oracle of the Lord . . . the oracle of the Lord . . . the oracle of the Lord” (Jeremiah 23:33-38). Hearers were then duped into believing that the Lord was speaking through these prophets when He was not.

As the “positivity, possibility, prosperity, and peace” message from the false seers spread, Samaria and Jerusalem continued their downward spiral into decadence. With spiritual chaos consuming the land (here a vision, there a vision, everywhere a vision . . . vision), the Lord appointed Jeremiah to be His spokesman. He told the prophet to tell the people—“I did not send these prophets, / But they ran. I did not speak to them [clairaudience?], / But they prophesied” (Jeremiah 23:21).

Thus, concluded Koch: “Clairvoyance, clairaudience and clairsentience all belong to the list of mediumistic forces and subjections.” So to protect His Holy Name and verify to the truth of His Word, God was forced to oppose the false message of the false prophets and judge His people. (See Deuteronomy 18:19; Jeremiah 14:15-16.)

War and calamity, not peace and security, were to come upon the nation (Jeremiah 23:39-40; 25:8-11*).
